Dowsett Almshouses.

The eight Dowsett Almshouses in Chelmsford Avenue, Southend on Sea, were gifted about 100 years ago to the Borough of Southend by Thomas Dowsett, the then local Mayor and well known philanthropist.

They are now administered by the Dowsett Almshouses Trust, but continue to this day to achieve the desire of providing affordable housing for the poor and elderly of the Borough.

Please get in touch if you feel that you might benefit from one of our properties - look on the "News" page to see if there are any current vacancies.
